"Rural rotation"

As part of my training, it's in my training programme that I'm to do 6 months of a rural rotation. The only thing is, my rural rotation isn't that rural after all. While it's 8 hours from the city I live in, it's only 45 minutes from another well known city of different state.

It's sort of becoming a little extended holiday for us. I don't work crazy hours, the weathers great for the beach and all things outdoor. In fact, I'm feeling sad when I think about having to leave in 2 months time.

This is what I was up to yesterday afternoon - mind you, it was a day off. Lying in the sun, staring at the beautiful blue sky, sand between my toes, soaking in the sun.... It was heavenly!

And now I'm in bed, feeling sorry for myself for not being able to be out in the sun today - all because I need to get some sleep before my night shift. How unfair!!!! And the weather is even warmer than it is yesterday!

I HATE WORKING!

Sky diving @ Byron Bay

Something that we've thought about for a while, but never finding the courage to actual do it.

Since we've moved to Sydney, we've been looking at sky diving packages either in Sydney itself, or at Wollongong. Somehow, we've always managed to come up with excuses like - it's going to rain this weekend, Wollongong's too far, too busy etc etc etc

This time, being up north - weather's not excuse and the coastlines being gorgeous, we have no excuses to back away! So off we went to Byron Bay for a once in a lifetime experience !

We've decided to go ahead with Skydive Byron Bay instead of the one at Gold Coast because we felt that the view was going to be prettier with some greens, blues and brown instead of just the sea and buildings at GC.

The company do offer trips all the way from the GC up to Byron which is included in the package. We decided to drive ourselves because we didn't want to follow their 'trip' down to the town at Byron as we had plans for dinner.

Our little transport up to the air!

To be absolutely honest, we were quite upset while we were waiting to do our jump. Our jump/arrival time was meant to be at 11am, but we didn't get to do our jump till about 3 pm. Being one of the first fews to arrive, and only getting to jump at the second last plane! - TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED. We were told that there was a 30 minute delay due to the change in the wind.. still, a 4 hour delay for the jump was a way too long. In fact, we actually went back up to the desk and told them if there was any further delays, we would like to cancel our photograph/video package and just be on the next jump (as they told us the reason we kept getting pushed back was that they couldn't fit our photographers in).

Anywayyyyy.... the jump made up for it. We were too happy after that to be angry anymore

 Off the plane!

:))))

Surprisingly, it was not scary at all! The view was just so amazing!

Check out the skies and coast line!
Gorgeousness to the max!
