Now..
Most of my posts are always about where to go, what to see, where to eat and what to eat and basically all good and wonderful things of where I've been. *apart from the lack of action on blogging the last 2 years! A lot has happened!!*
Unfortunately, today's post is quite the opposite.
We're at Surfers Paradise in Gold Coast for 5 weeks, and my family has decided to come and visit as well. So, naturally with 2 little ones in tow, theme parks are a must! So granddad decided that he was going to get the tickets today (while I stayed at home with my lil 5 month old).
Well... he went to a shop called Discount Theme Park Tickets on Cavill Avenue, next to AquaDuck.
And the poor man...
1. He was told the tickets are 530.00 - voila - credit card was charged 550.00. When asked why, she took 20 dollars out cash and gave it to him. No apologies, no explanation.. Was it a genuine mistake? Or was there an attempt on cheating an old man? I guess I won't know.
2. He was told to get the 3 day pass for the same price as the 1 day pass. So he said ok. Well... he got printed the 1 day pass.. and got charged 530.00
I checked online - a family pass (2 adults and 2 kids) + 2 adults - 495.95...
Not sure where the other 34.00 went..
You would think if an elderly man was making a purchase in a placed like GC, he would be treated fairly or at least helped... or at least not duped... well. this proves otherwise. Yes, I can see this happening in Asia but not here! Not right on one of the main areas! Not at my beloved GC!!
What a shame considering that we take GC almost as our second home given how much time we spend here!
